New Staunton Style Chess Set

Greetings Chess Friends,

I'm writing to let you know Falling Leaf Chess just finished another chess set called the New Staunton Style Chess Set. It's inspiration comes, of course, from the traditional tournament set design we're all familiar with, however, this design is modernized with a subtly cleaner look and feel. The King measures 4-1/16" tall  with a 1-1/2" base and the remaining court is sized proportionately and features double Queens. The Black Walnut and Hard Rock Maple pieces are weighted for a comfortable feel and finished off with standard green Kunin felt. Each piece is triple-lacquered and buffed to a beautiful sheen to  give you years of playing enjoyment. Be sure to check out Etsy.com/shop/FallingLeafChess for further details and to make a purchase.

No offence but these chess sets look very low quality. There are many similar ones made by polish chess makers at much lower price!

Speaking strictly from proportions and balance, the knight is so much larger physically, that it looks like it does not belong to the rest of the set. Every other piece on there, including the rook, is on the slender and dainty side.

I agree, also apart from wrong proportions the chess pieces are made very unprofessionally as if it was sort of DIY project.

A meme chess set design. Very humorous, nice work.

I believe it's intended to appear a little "rustic" (which I like) but the knights just don't quite work - they are bit too "heavy" for the rest of the set.

It looks like a project sort of chess set where the maker seems to have been experimentaing with how to make a chess set.
