How to load created position onto Arena?

I want to start an Engine tournament on Arena starting with a position that I set up. Does anyone know how to do that?

Thanks for your help in advance!

I guess it would be possible to set up an epd file with that position, but I think setting up a pgn file would be easier. With a pgn file, you could set up just the position you're interested in, or also include all of the moves leading up to that position.

If you want all of the prior moves, you'd need to click the edit button at the start position, then manually make all of the moves leading up to the position you want the engines to begin at. However, if you only want the one position you're interested in, you could just set up the position using the menu "Position -> Set up a Position".

Once you have the position on the board, use the menu "PGN -> Save Current Game in PGN Format". Save the PGN file to the folder of your choice.

Now, when you're setting up your engine tournament and you have the "Engine Tournament" window open, click on the "Options" tab. Now click on the "Starting position" pull-down menu and select one of the two "Load from PGN/EPD file" choices. Next, click on the little folder icon to the right of the "File" pull-down menu and navigate to your newly created PGN file with your special position. Click on the PGN file so thaqt it shows up in the "File" pull-down menu.

Finish setting up the remaining tournament choices and start the tournament. I hope that does it for you.

I tried out this idea, and it did work, except for one minor cosmetic bug. If I set up a pgn file for the position, the engine logos would tend to not show up in the GUI. It doesn't affect the running of the tournament; It's just not as visually appealing.

If I set up the position with an epd file, the engine logos displayed just fine.

That's weird.
