House of Staunton Austrian Coffeehouse Set

I am quite happy with my Coffeehouse Set from HOS. It's an Antiqued and Ebonised set. It's weighted very well, I got this set on clearance. They have released a new version since. The king of the new version is a bit better.

"Coffee House Compensation" e.g. two pawns and a check for a piece) for the side which made the last move.

Very nice reproduction! I like it!

I never heard of that term before. That's added knowledge for me. Thanks.

Nice set. I especially like the pawns and the knights. If I were to change something though I'd make the queen a bit taller, knight a bit shorter and overall the heavy pieces a bit wider.

Love the double collars on the pawns. Interesting set over all.

I like the look of this set and would love to see how it plays.  Congrats on the purchase.

This set really does look very nice, especially as you have it pictured with that board.

Thanks. I wish the knight is a tad smaller too. Comparing it to another small club set knight (third photo), it looks big. I think this reproduction was as true as to the original.

Thanks. Seeing the original, this reproduction seems to be spot on.

Thinking of getting this one myself.

I love everything about this set except the knight. The knight looks like a rubber duck.

I actually prefer these knights over the ones of the *new* version; the bodies form a more gracious S-shape.
