Hi all, wondering if anyone can help me identify this Chess set. Any help much appreciated, thanks!

The only info i got from it - and I've tried to google what it means to no avail  is "Vintage Staunton Vernis Chess Set Wooden No 201 Vintage Made In France Game Set Wood Box "

I don't know how much more identification you can get from Google......its made of wood.....it was made in France.....it can be purchased at Walmart......don't know what "Vernis" is.

So I'm guessing it is nothing special then. Thanks for the post.

This is a classic German design. You'll find more sets like this if you search "vintage German chess set", "vintage Bohemian chess set", and "chicken knight". I'm not sure how to identify the exact maker of this particular set if that's what you were asking.

Post is by Walther Beinsur, who is an expert on French Chess sets. Your knight design seems to be the one on extreme right.(J.C.Loisy)
