It's actually 241 now. I put together a blog post outlining how I got them here: https://www.chess.com/blog/LeeEuler/project-237-playing-people-from-all-around-the-world

In a similar vein I am trying to get all the awards and am pretty close there as well.

SKKMARTON I will trade you a Boliva for Aland Island

It's far more impressive to have 200+ passports if you just randomly choose opponents. I would surmise you would never actually complete every passport if you didn't do the daily challenge thing. Many countries have less than 10 players, and some have 0-2 active players in the whole world.

You can get all of them easily. All you need is a friend who is willing to play you a bunch of times, changing the flag every game. It'll take just a few minutes if you just start a game and then one of you resigns--they don't even have to be rated.

I also was part of a club (called Club 237) that was semi-interested in getting members from every country, but unfortunately the admin is MIA now: https://www.chess.com/club/club-237. I don't want to be spamming advertisements or anything, but if you go to my profile I have a club that is trying to fill the void left by Club 237. Anyone is welcome but we are especially looking for a variety of countries to be represented.

In a similar vein to passports, I am trying to get all the achievements and am pretty close there as well.

I have North Korea and so do a lot of people. Fun fact: there are so few people with internet access in North Korea, that it rounds to 0%. Apparently, though, Kim Jong-un is a huge chess fan, is dilligently working on getting to the elite league, so that's how we all have the flag.

Hartsville54

I do not have Palau, one think I would have like to see is a Date for each passport (I.e. you played someone from Palau 2-4-2020)

no aruba is not rare

sakkmarton

southgeorgia is super rare

Dr_Risiko

I think, both Aruba and South Georgia are rare. Some of these passports are small islands with only a few thousand people living there. How many of them will play chess here?
