I believe him
Wesley So closed his account.
After yesterday's controversy and the vulgar messages sent from So's account, today he claimed on his facebook that his account was hacked and he closed his account: https://www.facebook.com/wesleyso/

If his account has been hacked, the hacker must have known him very well and immediately after sending those messages, the alleged hacker changed the settings to "receiving messages from only friends" so he does not receive any messages from people like me anymore in response to what he has sent which is weird for a hacker since the account does not belong to him and he has no emotional attachment to it. Anyway if Wesley's account has been hacked that means he is not capable of having a secure password and the best decision for him is not to have an account because this is just ruining his reputation. there is no proof his account was hacked and when a message is sent from your account, you are responsible for it.
1. Talking like this doesn't really suit his style, he has so much to lose to say things like this, I can't see him doing so unless he's really mentally unstable, and plus he's in the middle of a chess tournament and doing well so it seems unlikely for him to go fully crazy like that.
2. You called him a "fat, ugly phillipino" suggest to me you're also a racist, hateful and prob insecure about your own looks to think this is an approach response. You've already lost any credibility in any public debate and you mostly come off as just some immature little idiot.
Whether it was So or not I don’t know, but he said he was hacked and I believe him, So isn’t the sort of guy to go and pick on a 14 yr old. He has probably already spoken to Firouzja and cleared everything up.
It has nothing to do with us, please stop making these threads and shut up.
It is also possible to fake screen shots, which is why they are helpful but not definitive evidence.
Please report any offensive messages to Chess.com support, send them the screen shot but do not delete the message from your inbox. The Support team will delete it after verification.

Nonsense. Wesley So is not that kind of guy. If anything he's TOO nice to ever reach the top of the chess world.
How do you get the green that mods use?
Don't even think about it - Chess.com views anything that could even be remotely interpreted as impersonating a moderator very, very dimly.

Or this could just be the attackers way to just prolong the period before So noticed the incident by reducing the onslaught of angry responses he got.
Anytime someone does something stupid on the internet, they claim their account was hacked.
And as a result, when someone actually has their account hacked - because it happens - nobody believes them.
If you are accessing public wifi and don't use a vpn its easy to get hacked. There are apps that make it so easy that you don't need to have much skill at it in order to do it. I was once hacked while staying at a hotel. Fortunately they just sent out a few requests for money from my contacts and I was able to change my password before they got around to doing so.
