I'd rather have the rye bread chess set. This one just seems destined to be owned by an oil tycoon's 8yo.

the problem is after buying it, then trying to play it the only thing you could think is...they drop that and i'll kill them...or danm ive lost one of the pawns again, ohh and maybe the price
It'll be nice to play and get to keep the pieces you kill. Uhhh! color me real rich... and quick!

While I will agree that I would not buy such a set or anything, I will also agree that it's quite lovely!
i love the photoshopped bling on that second photo. it's like the dirrrty souf.
(and hey, don't be hatin' on people who buy expensive chess sets even though they can't play...there's something to be said for the beauty and sheer artistry of the sculpture that, yes, even non-chess-playing non-snobs can appreciate.)

Awsome! Good idea too. A truely one of a kind set that someone who has serious coin is going to snap up in a hurry.

here is a link to some photos (look like mock ups) of the rest of the pieces. Quite extra ordinary. Personally not such a fan of the king. Rooks are my fave. The pawns each have a pearl on top. Black pearls for the golden (black) pawns.
