I've been away at a tournament for a few days, I come back and nobody has posted anything about Linares/Morelia!

After 3 rounds Topalov is on a roll with 2 wins against Ivanchuk and Aronian, Anand is on his tail and the rest lagging behind. Topalov's opening prep really is second to none, presenting novelties (good ones!) every other game it seems.

Round 4 action, Shirov beats Topalov, Aronian beats Ivanchuk.

I'm  liking Topalov's use of the Sveshnikov, even if it didn't go so well.

Round 5:

Anand beats Leko, Carlsen beats Topalov. Those of you who play the Alekine's defence should check out Carlsen's game as he played it out of nowhere and won!

Anand wins the first half of the tournament at Moreila.

Second half starts today, I'll be watchin Anand-Shirov on playchess..I'm hoping Shirov gets his revenge!

Anand, Aronian, and Carlson win.

Check out Aronian beat Topalov in a reversed dragon variation of the English (my favorite!)

After 12 rounds it's Anand ahead by half a point over Carlson, with Aronian just behind.

Man oh man, Magnus plays EVERYTHING! See him take out Topalov with an English Opening today!

So Anand wins, with Carlson in second.

An exciting tournament all around with a very low drawing percentage. I was especially impressed by Radjabov's use of the Schliemann defence to the Ruy Lopez, uncompromising chess indeed!
