5 Grandmasters took part in a playing field of 35 players. They were GM Alexander Baburin (Ire), GM Stuart Conquest (Eng), GM Mark Hebden (Eng), GM Algimantas Butnorius (Lit), and Alon Greenfeld (Isr). All of the games are viewable or downloaded as pgn.
If anyone is thinking about playing OTB in Ireland i can say that i attended the tournament and the playing conditions were very good. The other sections (open,intermediate and junior) welcomed players from Luxembourg, Russia, Poland, England, Philipines and a few other countries (i didnt see the full list).
If the Irish Champs 2009 is too much of a wait for you then the other 2 international chess tournaments in Ireland are Kilkenny (Nov) and Bunratty (Feb. Last year GM Peter Svidler played at Bunratty and usual entrants include GM Luke McShane and GM John Nunn.
