The most curious and also valuable chess variant in my collection is the Tak-Tik Wehr-Schach. I have the second edition from 1938. It is a German board game inspired by chess - funny, the whole circle is closed, as chess was original inspired by war! It was distributed by the German military (Wehrmacht). The board has 11x11 squares with 18 pieces each side.
