Maybe you are already aware of these, but if not, try contacting @cgrau of https://sovietchesssets.com/2022/11/13/the-ubiquitous-soviet-upright-pieces-of-artel-vsekokhudozhnik/, or the members of https://www.facebook.com/groups/738734636935127/

Yes, it seems to be authentic, and indeed they are quite rare. I saw this one sold for $375 on Etsy, which strikes me as quite cheap. There is a Soviet Upright set with admittedly more refined knights for sale on Etsy for more than $1,800.

Here is that really expensive set, which is kinda my dream set, but beyond my grasp: https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/1446260909/vintage-soviet-chess-set-with-weight

I just love how furious those knights are!

Here is another Soviet Upright, from Promartel: https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/1249838414/soviet-antique-chess-set-30s-vintage

Here is another Upright, with really beautiful bishops but less attractive knights as far as I’m concerned: https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/1722028164/old-chess-vintage-soviet-weighted-chess

Another Upright with a pretty distinct style: https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/1684891569/soviet-tournament-chess-set-with-weights

And finally, a slender Upright that looks more like the Averbakh II sets (also better known as Soviet Upright)—the knights notwithstanding: https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/1204962699/soviet-chess-set-30s-vintage-in-very

I don’t believe there is an Upright from Artel Vsekokhudozhnik listed anywhere at the moment.

I meant any other opinions about the set in the photos. Can you give me more details about that particular set in the photos ?

I think I’ve said it all. The only Soviet Uprights you will find that are a close match will be those from artel Vsekokhudozhnik.

Just my personal opinion and no more.....After one acquires a few of the most common chess sets and maybe a few more interesting designs, it's the Soviet pieces that are the most appealing, with such a wealth of varieties.
