I had an extremely serious hypoxic brain injury close to 29 years ago. I only win about half my games, but just being alive is miracle enough. To be able to play chess, albeit even weak chess is amazing. My old cognitive therapist would snidely tell me, after every session, that my ability to think and remember was permanently destroyed, and that I better get used to it. If I could see my old cognitive therapist today, I'd love to play her. Honestly she never struck me as being very bright.
