Mathematicus

Hi,

I started playing chess some years back and it has been one of my dearest hobbies ever since. I was looking to improve so i began working on different aspects of my game by reading numerous books. Unfortunately, books didn't do the trick. After that i rarely played and now here i am playing as much and learning as much as i  can. Chess is capable of changing your life, or it might just be addictive - i don't know.

Mathematics is something else that i am interested in. It may seem odd to be interested in it, but there's a lot more to it than most people think, and we can only know more about it in the future.

I'm also a keen bodybuilder. I started 5 years back, but have managed to keep it up until now. I hope to keep going.

I like playing online chess instead of live, as the time element in live is rather disconcerting. Challenge me to anything that falls into the standard range (longer than 14 mins - unrated), and i'll be happy to give you a game.

When it comes to music, my taste is quite strange (apparently) - but that's how i am.  I am a fan of four chess legends: Fischer, Tal, Kasparov and Capablanca, and i've been looking at their games for a long time now. Out of these, i admit that I look forward to seeing Tal's games more because of his attacking genius. I guarantee that if you ever fancy a game i'll be happy to give you one (after all it is only for fun).  Now i will share with you my favourite quotations on chess:

'Personally, I rather look forward to a computer program winning the world chess championship. Humanity needs a lesson in humility' - Richard Dawkins

'Life is a kind of Chess, with struggle, competition, good and ill events' - Benjamin Franklin.

'Chess is the gymnasium of the mind'. - Adolf Anderssen

I have created a group in memory of the legendary GM Rashid Nezhmetdinov, who was good friends with Mikhail Tal and played aggressive, tactical chess too.
Mikhail Botvinnik once said: "nobody sees combinations like Rashid Nezhmetdinov.'" Bronstein: "Rashid Nezhmetdinov is a virtuoso of combinational chess." Tal said: "His games reveal the beauty of chess and make you love in chess not so much the points and high placings, but the wonderful harmony and elegance of this particular world."
