The team match admin can create and accept team match challenges to create new team matches. When a new team match starts, the team match admin should create a news post to recruit members. Group notes may also be helpful in recruiting members for team matches. Personal notes to recruit individual strong players to a team match are OK, but we should not use them to try to recruit the same person too frequently.

We should not put too much of a burden on our members, particularly our higher-rated members. A member who joins all our team matches should not generally have more than about 5 team match games active at any one time.

Rating-restricted team matches are OK, but we should ensure we also have some open ones.

The team match admin should join the Club Chess Tour group to be aware of the team match tournaments they are running, and to consider joining some of them.

The team match admin is responsible for watching active team matches for members who show a pattern of frequent timeouts. The occasional timeout is understandable, but a member with too many timeouts should not be allowed to join team matches until they can get their recent timeout percentage under control.

The team match admin is responsible for keeping the newsletter admin informed. News that might be interesting includes the results of recently-completed team matches, perhaps a status update on an active team match (a tight finish, a match where we’re beating a strong team, status of a team match tournament, etc.). There is no obligation to look through specific games, but if you do happen to notice an interesting game from a recently-completed team match, that’s worth mentioning too.
