My peak rating is about 2003 blitz. i recently tried the Danish gambit against 1900-2000 players, and lost a lot of rating points.

I either do not know how to play the danish gambit at a higher level, or there is something wrong with the opening at high level. .

Also i think as I get older my positional understanding of chess has gotten deeper, but I miss more tactics.

Also there is a variation of the danish gambit declined that gives white an isolated queens pawn and not much in return, I find that variation very off putting. I do not mind the other declined variations, as they can be interesting and give white good chances.
