Here's an outline of where we stand and where we are headed in the various and sundry club tournaments that BGH has entered. I will periodically update this tracker and use it to avoid overworking the team -- an infrequent risk for this hungry crew!

Comments on the tracker are welcome here in this Forum. (Does anyone look at this but me?) I also welcome suggestions for specific new club tournaments. As past seasons conclude, I may segregate this list into 'finished' and 'ongoing/upcoming' sections to cut down on clutter.

Club Chess Tour (CCT)

League S1 ("Season 1" tournament began Jan 2019 and ongoing) -- Format is nine divisions comprised of seven teams each, with all divisions playing concurrent round robin tournaments. Each division plays seven preliminary rounds (starting at monthly intervals) followed by three playoff rounds when all the preliminary matches have concluded. Matches are for open ratings. BGH has been placed in Division 3b, which plays with 20+ boards per match. A season runs for almost two years, and for the next season, teams are promoted to higher divisions or relegated to lower divisions based on their relative performance.

R1 - bye

R2 - won by default February 2019 because the opponent (the Square Knights) canceled when they did not post enough players

R3 - won by default March 2019 because the opponent (KNIGHTS of the REALM) did not post enough players. We can't even play as a friendly match in this situation because CCT match parameters require a minimum of 20 players and the site doesn't allow a match to start with fewer than the specified minimum.

R4 - started April 20, 2019 vs. Team Almaty (31 players, leading 25-18 on May 16)

R5 - won by default May 2019 vs. PHILIPPINES' FINEST Chess Club, who never issued a challenge.

R6 - starting June 2019 vs. BLACK KNIGHT CHESS

R7 - starting July 2019 vs. Anna Muzychuk Fan Club

Center Pawns (tournament began 2018) -- BGH knocked out in R2 of the first segment. Format is four pools of seven teams each playing a knock-out segment of three rounds; the winners of the four pools then meet in a round-robin segment of three rounds. BGH is in Pool B.

R1 began May 4, 2018 vs. North America United (50 players) -- won!

R2 began Dec 20, 2018 vs. Boris Spassky Chess Club (33 players) -- lost (still in play)

R3 to begin after R2 matches complete -- BGH will not advance.

Passed Pawn (tournament began Dec 2017) -- BGH knocked out after first segment; see this news post -- final results appear in the comments.

Round One began Dec 2017 vs. Team Mexico (89 players, lost 106-72)

R2 began Jan 2018 vs. Team Mexico (43 players, won 46-40 on June 29!)

R3 tiebreaker began June 2018 vs. Team Mexico (75 players, got crushed 115-35 on Dec 12)

BGH did not advance to Quarterfinal Segment (single elimination knockout)

R1 began Sept 20, 2018 vs. Team Argentina (49 players, technically lost, trailing 67.5-23.5 on Dec 18)

R2 began Oct 20 vs. Team Mexico (57 players, technically lost, trailing 62-44 on Dec 18)

R3 began Nov 20 vs. France-Deutschland Group (40 players, trailing 37.5-19.5 on Dec 18)

2018/19 Tour Series, "2nd Tour" subdivision for 1+ players and open ratings

R1 began Sept 23, 2018 vs. BLACK KNIGHT CHESS (27 players, trailing 24-23 on Dec 18)

R2 began Oct 7 vs. Art of Chess (36 players, leading 35-27 on Dec 18!)

R3 began Oct 21 vs. Warriors of the Rainbow (39 players, technically lost, 42.5-26.5 on Dec 18)

R4 began Nov 4 vs. Romeo and Juliet (19 players, leading 17.5-7.5 on Dec 18!)

R5 began Nov 25 vs. Black Stone (36 players, trailing 25-20 on Dec 18)
