I have been playing chess for 20 years and have been teaching for 6 years. Currently, I am a volunteer coach to over 40 kids at a local elementary school. I mainly teach basic beginner and Intermediate level students. I excel in teaching tactics and getting students to think "that one extra move" ahead. Chess is much more than moving pieces around. Chess teaches countless life values and lessons. Each move has a consequence. Only you get to decide if it's a good or negative consequence. I am physically unable to move the pieces which is why I preach "Use your brain and don't touch the pieces until you are certain of your move!"
