The Will of Gukesh D & The Exciting Future Ahead
Since Magnus Carlsen's decision not to defend the World Chess Championship, two elite chess players had a rare opportunity to play for the title, which was previously held by 16 other persons at the end of FIDE's first 100 years. Last year, Ding Liren became the 17th World Chess Champion, making history after wining the match in Astana against Ian Nepomniachtchi in Tie Breaks.
The 2024 Candidates Lineup was a mix of the old guards and youngsters making its average age the youngest of all time in candidates. The average age was 26.5 years with 5 players below the age of 30.
There were remarkable predictions and analyses.
Here is Magnus Carlsen's predictions.
Of course the reality is much different and promising with a 17 year old wining the event and becoming the youngest winner of the Candidates and the challenger to the chess throne.
In this Interview with Levy Rozman, Gukesh revealed that he used to idolized MS Dhoni (11 minutes in the video) in his younger days ( he is just 17!) who is just ice cold at the cricket field shows no emotion but is rocking the IPL at 42(soon to be 43! at July 7) with his cameos.
"MS Dhoni said one thing to me, he said in big games everyone thinks that I've got to do something extra, I've got to do something different. He said his mantra and how he speaks to himself is he stays there, stands still and says everyone else is going to change, I'm going to be the only one here that doesn't change and that holds him ahead of everyone else."-Stoinis

Magnus: "Gukesh actually asked me in Germany... what he should do in the Candidates. And I said, I don't have any good advice, I don't know. I only said that he should not go crazy and he should just look for his chances because other people will go crazy."
Here is his interview at the Times of India.
The last round was full of craziness but the nerves was shown and felt in volumes.
With the must win situation for Hikaru, Fabi, Ian the situation was tense and will be there for their heart and the fans. But the world of chess is a brutal one where one mistake is all it takes to ruin the handwork of years.
Chess can be so heartbreaking sometimes... 😢

In a interview in 2019, AB de Villiers a South African cricketer and an legend of the sport said when he was asked
Gaurav:- I feel like you still have the record of fastest 50 fastest 100, fastest 150?
AB de Villiers:- Yeah, but I don't know about 50. I slipped up. It should've been much faster. That's gonna get broken. Cricket is a funny game. And the people of cricket, they forget very quickly. And they lose faith in people very quickly. So, hopefully that doesn't happen. And that's maybe what's keeping me alive. And keeps me driven. We all are this far away from that.
I was there too

What the future holds for them is setting up a exciting story for youth vs experience. But they have inspired to give our best no matter the conditions.
The Future:
With Ding Liren's health and chess form, we can have a new World Champion in the form of Gukesh D who is inspiring millions of kids around the world to play chess right now but we never know what the future holds.
Here is what Ding had to say about his young challenger.
After Viswanathan Anand, India have its second World Championship Challenger. Just like the fictional and hilarious Monkey D Luffy( whose Initial D 's Meaning is not known yet!) yearns to be the Kings of The Pirates and his story is at Endgame. We may see the Another D whose D stands for Dommaraju become World Champion soon. I can't wait for the match to start.
