Nepal Wins Division 4(Pool A);Qualifies For Division 3 OF 2021 FIDE Online Chess Olympiad
Division 4 of 2021 FIDE Online Chess Olympiad, saw 60 National teams divided into 5 pools(12 teams each).From these 5 Pools (A to E), Top 3 Teams will qualify for Division 3 which will start from August 27.

The players as per the FIDE Regulations for Nepal are:
CM Bibek Thing(@biveklama), FM Rupesh Jaiswal(@rupeshjswl7), WFM Sujana Lohani(@Shockerlover), Sindira Joshi(@Sindira), Anisha Neupane(@AnishaLM10) ,Yubraj Paudel(@Yuvipaudel) where as reserve players was formed with youth and experience as Current National Champion Purushottam Chaulagain(@purusottamchaulagain) ,Former National Champion FM Manish Hamal(@shivakaka)and talented youngsters like NIken Kusatha(@nikenkusatha) , Kripa Adhikari(@kripaadhikari0), Sneha Yadav(@yadavsneha) and Aava Pudasaini(@aavap).
For this blog, we will focus a player's game per round.
Pool A, Round 1 Nepal-Lebanon (3.5 : 2.5)
Nepal started its campaign with win against Lebanon with 3 victories and a draw. Unfortunately two players were disconnected and which resulted in two draws.
Round 2 Nepal-Seychelles (4 : 1)
Once again there was two disconnections and Nepal won on rest of the boards to secure its second victory.
Round 3 Nepal-Laos (5 : 0)
For the third time disconnections hit, but Nepal sealed the match with victories on 4 boards.
Round 4 Nepal - Brunei Darussalam (5 : 1)
Nepal managed to win 4 games in a row ,but disconnection issues didn't leave Nepal for the fourth time. (Note: The result needs to be adjusted in chess results site. in case of WFM Sujana Lohani's Game.)
Round 5 Nepal-Fiji (4.5 : 1.5)
Nepal managed to win its fifth game in row with disconnections.
Round 6 Nepal-Oman(3 : 3)
A wild round where both teams went toe to toe and secured a draw. There were three victories for each sides .
Round 7 Nepal-Hong Kong (4 : 2)
A very crucial round as Hong Kong were the favorites in this pool, unfortunately for them a member didn't follow fair play regulations which relegated their qualification spot . There were 4 decisive games and disconnection on Yubraj's board as his opponent didn't show up so Nepal got the point which secured the win for Nepal.
Round 7 Results
Round 8 Nepal-Maldives (4 : 2)
Nepal had to win against Maldives to get lead in the rankings as top 6 teams were divided by 1 point after round 7.Nepal managed to win on 4 boards to secure the victory.
For this round we will focus on FM Manish Hamal who is the first titled chess player of Nepal.
All Games Of Round 8
Round 9 Nepal-Pakistan (2.5 : 3.5)
Nepal's only loss in this tournament was against Pakistan but Nepal managed to win last two games to qualify for division 3.
Round 10 Nepal -Bahrain (4 : 2)
Nepal managed just the thing mended after a loss ,a win. A win motivates players and recognize that they can reach their goals via good chess.
Round 11 Nepal-Guam (4 : 2)
Nepal won with same score as last round to secure first place(after fair play analysis) and qualified for division 3.
Nepal qualified for Division 3 as Pool A Winners along with Lebanon and Fiji after Fair play analysis.
