No Bishop YET Still Deadly! | Rudolf & Cramling vs Botez & Naycir | Part II
As some of you might remember from one of my previous blog posts, I played in a chess match organized by Chess.com along with some of the loveliest ladies in the chess world! I got paired with Andrea Botez as Team NA and IM Anna Rudolf and WFM Anna Cramling were our opponents as Team EU.
In the second part of this epic chess match, I share the sad story of the untimely passing of my Sicilian Dragon who only wanted to accelerate to launch a deadly attack. Andrea and I expressed we are not scared of these deadly chess ladies and more...
Knowing that we had won the first game did little calm us. The reality was there, we only needed to draw this game to win the match! Anna to the power of two (or Anna ^2) had white pieces and they lacked their dark squared bishy. Trusting in my teammate's expertise in the field, we played a hyperaccelerated-esque dragon setup against their 1.e4 and chose some sound moves without going into too much action.
We thought that they wouldn't settle for a draw but time was in our favor and there was little they could do to prevent our pawn from marching towards the Hollywood of chess squares, the last (well, technically the first) rank.
