How I Conquered The North Pole (FIRST TRY * DIDN'T EVEN CRY!)

It all started around the most wonderful time of the year. Growing up in Turkey, I didn't have Santa to grant my wishes. So this year, I made a long list of wishes: More ELO, no blunders in chess, being able to spot tactics in actual chess games, a basket full of kittens... Then I headed up to the nearest shopping mall to meet this famous guy. To my surprise, it costed $48 for a digital image and the prices went up to $75 for a print photo. At that moment, it struck me that I now knew my purpose in life: to become the queen of the North Pole.

Conquering the North Pole was not an easy task but I had to start from somewhere. First, I challenged Powder, the innocent snow person. Then I made my way up to the elf girl, who did some questionable moves on the chessboard. When I easily knocked out Santa himself, I was only half way through. I had to beat the strongest members of the North Pole chess club. Dash the reindeer proved to be a tricky opponent. However, I managed to complete the journey with reindeer stew after 6 tries. Then there was Holly...

Holly struck me with her solid play but I was determined. I wasn't there to lose. I had one chance, one opportunity. I was ready to lose myself...
