Andrea Botez Carried Me in a Chess Match vs. IM Anna Rudolf and WFM Anna Cramling

I played in a chess match organized by Chess.com along with some of the loveliest ladies in the chess world! I got paired with Andrea Botez as Team NA and IM Anna Rudolf and WFM Anna Cramling were our opponents as Team EU.

Andrea and I were definitely underdogs against these strong ladies, so we were given piece odds in each game. However, even though our opponents were a piece down, I was shaking in boots! 

In the first game, we had white pieces and Anna to the power of two had the unfortunate unfolding of events as their kingside knight was taken. Since this knight plays a major role in the defense of the king, they had to resort to a more defensive plan against our London.

After a mighty king hunt across the chess board we managed to come on top in the first game!
