2024 ALT-Nation Invitational - ROUND 4 REPORT
In the Saturday Round (where we were playing one game per day, which is the ideal format for a more engaging chess experience), only two of the three scheduled games took place.
NM Carter Peatman was unable to attend on Saturday, and since there was no feasible way to reschedule his game against NM Dave Vest, it was marked as a "no-game."
NM Altucher chose the Saemisch Variation against the Nimzo-Indian, while Eugene played the Russian Variation against the Grünfeld Defense.
The only game that truly featured a King’s Pawn Opening was the Round 2 matchup between Gulamali and Vest.
In the end, the results were 8 wins for White, 4 wins for Black, and two draws. (I had mistakenly claimed my draw with Carter was the only one in Round 2, but I had forgotten about a late draw in the final round as well.)
The final round would have a show down for 1st Place between myself and Kazim.
