Wicked: Movie Review
Popular... I know about popuuUUUuular. ( Says the guy that has 4 views on every blog he's ever released ðŸ˜ðŸ˜‚ ) Welcome back to Jetplane Movies! In today's blog I will be reviewing the BRAND NEW movie: Wicked... part 1...
Wicked is the prequel to The Wizard Of Oz and was told back all the way back in 2003 as a Broadway musical. 21 years later, ( Now ) it was finally made into a movie with Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande-Butera. ( Original musical featured Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth )
This film is based on Act I of the Broadway version and is ( *Cough Cough* ) 2 HOURS AND 40 MINUTES LONG. ( I know Avengers: Endgame is 30 minutes longer but, you know............... that's Avengers: Endgame )
When I first saw the 2 trailers for this movie, I thought it looked garbage. I mean, come on... ARIANA GRANDE... IN A MOVIE?!? That just sounds fake.
And then I heard the original soundtrack. Pretty good.
Then I saw a 60 second clip of the movie... and fell in love.
Oh, and this random Jimmy Fallon thing I re-watched 20 times: ( I'm not joking 😂 )
But then I actually watched the movie with my own two eyes.
And trust me... it. Was. AWESOME.
- Ariana was GREAT; definitely not what I expected, though... ( BRUV... she actually sounds like an opera singer frfr... ) I couldn't stop thinking of "We Can't Be Friends" my mind is forever broken ðŸ˜ðŸ˜‚
- Storyline made sense
- Fun to watch
- Not too slow ( For a 2 hour and a half hour long film, that is 😂 )
- Good character development
- GREAT music
There were a few things that bugged me, though:
- The agenda- I get that Fiyero's handsome or whatever but... come on... what's the point?
- Scenes were dragged out during the songs- The songs cut in and out because of scenes in between the gaps which kind of stunk... ( I don't really want to say it ruined the moment, but, yes; it did suck some things out of the vibe )
- Jeff Goldblum- Ugh... I can't stand him, bruv... 😒
Other than that, there's not much left to say! All the music was fantastic, and just about everything else was as well!
Only about 365 more days until Part Two!!! 😊
