CCC23 Rapid
The second event in the CCC23 series is the Rapid Event, played at a time control of 10+3. The remaining event is the CCC23 bullet event, followed by a potential Classical Cup #3. Rapid is slated to begin around July 29th, 2024.
Stockfish yet again won the CCC23 Blitz event, beating Torch with a score of 294.5/500.0 in the Finals, as well as beating Leela in the Alt Finals with a score of 299.5/500.0.
This event will bring back Kieren Pearson's engine, Halogen, which has competed in many of the previous events. This season will also swap out Adam Kulju's engine Willow, for his new engine Patricia, which is considered by many to have an unmatched aggressiveness.

This event will feature the following matches. As the matches are played, this blog will be updated to link to the match, as well as indicate which engines are advancing further into the event. All engine placements are the results of seeding from the CCC23 Blitz.
Match 1: Entry League, will feature Smallbrain, Winter, Marvin, Tucano, Midnight, Stash, Wasp, Patricia, and Halogen. The top-6 of these 9 will advance to the next set of games. The match will include a 3x DRR, spanning 216 games, and around 3 days.
Match 2: Qualifier #1, will feature Akimbo, Minic, Booot, Equisetum, Arasan, Weiss, and the qualifiers from Match 1. The top-6 of these 12 will advance to the next set of games. The match will include a 2x DRR, spanning 264 games, and around 5 days.
Match 3: Qualifier #2, will feature Igel, Revenge, Velvet, Altair, Stormphrax, BlackMarlin, and the qualifiers from Match 2. The top-6 of these 12 will advance to the next set of games. The match will include a 2x DRR, spanning 264 games, and around 5 days.
Match 4: Qualifier #3, will feature Ethereal, Viridithas, Seer, Rofchade, Clover, Uralochka, and the qualifiers from Match 2. The top-4 of these 12 will advance to the next set of games. The match will include a 2x DRR, spanning 264 games, and around 5 days.
Match 5: Main, will feature Stockfish, Torch, Leela, Berserk, Obsidian, Caissa, Rubi, Dragon, and the top-4 from Match 3. The top-6 of these 12 will advance to the next set of games. The match will include a 3x DRR, spanning 396 games, and around 8 days.
Match 6: Semifinals, will feature the top-6 engines from Match 4. The winner will be seeded directly into the Finals. The 2nd and 3rd place engines will compete in a head-to-head for the final spot in the finals. The match will include a 16x DRR, spanning 480 games, and around 10 days.
Match 7: Challenger Match, will be a direct head-to-head of the 2nd and 3rd place engines from the Semifinals. The match will include a 125x DRR, spanning 250 games, and around 5 days.
Match 8: Finals, will be a direct head-to-head between the winner of the Semifinals, and the winner of the Challenger Match. The match will include a 250x DRR, spanning 500 games, and around 5 days.
Results:
Halogen wins the Entry League, and will advance to Qualifier #1, along with Winter, Stash, Tucano, Smallbrain, and Midnight. Wasp was excluded, due to having crashed multiple times.
Akimbo wins the Qualifier #1, and will advance to Qualifier #2, along with Arasan, Booot, Equisetum, Minic, and Winter.
Stormphrax wins the Qualifier #2, and will advance to Qualifier #3, along with Igel, Akimbo, BlackMarlin, Revenge, and Equisetum.
Ethereal wins the Qualifier #3, and will advance to the Main Event, along with Viridithas and Clover. After a tiebreaker, Uralochka will also advance to take the final spot in the Main Event.
Stockfish wins the Main Event, and will advance to the Semifinals, along with Torch, Leela, Dragon, Rubi, and Berserk.
Stockfish wins the Semifinals, and secures a spot in the Finals. Leela and Torch, who took 2nd and 3rd respectively, will advance to the Challenger Match.
Leela wins the Challenger Match with a score of 130.0/250.0 and will advance to the Finals against Stockfish.
Stockfish wins the Finals with a score of 138.5/250.0, and wins the CCC23 Rapid.
