I always liked Tarrasch's quote: "Chess, like love, like music, has the power to make men happy."  When I play, it feels as if we're telling a story, one that shifts and unfolds with the dynamic of a dream.  I'm amazed at how soon I find myself in a place I've never been before, and things happen I would never have expected.  However the game turns out, my desire is that it give pleasure to us both.
