Tournament Arc 2: All The Information

Tournament Arc 2 is an event featuring YouTubers from the Anime community and Fighting Games players competing for their share of a $10,000 total prize fund. The event will run July 16 to 18 and 22 to 25, starting at 5 p.m. PT/02:00 CEST. The event will feature a series of best-of-three 10|5 rapid matches.

The event will consist of a double-elimination bracket, with a "redemption path" for anyone who loses their first-round match to win their way back to the grand final.


Broadcast

The event will be broadcast live on Chess.com/TV, on our Twitch and YouTube channels, and on Facebook and Twitter. Aranhawaii and JapaneseTutor will provide commentary throughout the show.

Tournament Arc 2 Week 2 Schedule

Prizes

The event's total prize fund of $10,000 will be divided as follows:

  • 1st: $4,000
  • 2nd: $2,500
  • 3rd: $1,500
  • 4th: $800
  • 5th-8th: $300

Format

  • Double-elimination bracket;
  • Best-of-three matches in the 10|5 control (10 minutes with a 5-second increment per move);
  • Players who win the first round move on to the Winners Bracket while losers go to the Redemption Arc bracket;
  • The finalist of the Redemption Arc bracket will play the Grand Final against the finalist of the Winners Bracket;
  • In the event of a tie, players will play a blitz tiebreak in the 3|0 time control until one player wins.
